Introduction

An under utilized corn and cattle farm was used as a platform to develop and expand into an unique game farm scenario.

The uniqueness of this project is that adventure is combined with eco-tourism. This enterprise will a “a-thing-to-do” in the South Cape. Quad motor bike & 4x4 trails are the focal point on the game farm, which is progressing towards the establishment of a nature reserve / game park. Nature conservation is the order of the day.

This farm cater for local as well as foreign tourists to enjoy quad- and mountain biking trails to experience nature.

Luxury accommodation is available by means of the guest house.

The established trail has proven already its popularity combined with the first completed bush camp. Rustic accommodation is an essential part of eco-tourism and compliment the outdoor adventure.

Zingela Indlela means “Game Tracks” in Xhosa and dirt tracts is utilized for adventure and eco-tourism.

The Farm:

Farm 272, in the Mossel Bay District, measure 694ha and is fully game fenced and gates are fitted at the entrances to the land.

The property is situated 9km west of Brandwag, about 15 km north of Mossel Bay along the main road R328 in the direction of Oudtshoorn. The area is used for the production of ostriches, small and large stock, as well as the production of cereals and vegetables.

The topography is undulate with deep valleys and prominent high terraces. These terraces command magnificent views in all directions. The Indian ocean towards the south and the magnificent Outeniqua Mountain range towards the north are clearly visible.

Sandy, clayish soils lie in the valleys with more substantial stony soil on the terraces. Some terraces are capped with rocky kaolin/sediment material.

Good quality brown kaolin is being mined in the area.

The veld type is coastal renosterveld with high proportions of grasses, fynbos and indigenous bush. Some lower valleys are infested with rooikrans, wattle and other alien plants.

Until recently the property has been used as a cattle farm, which involved the planting of foddercrops and utilizing of the veld as grazing.

Farm Rules

Do not wander around alone on the farm.
Always take your friend along.
Notify your host should you hike, drive or biking the tracks.
Never remove plants from the veld.
Always stay on the tracks when driving or biking.
Never disturb the animals or crocodiles.
Do not Litter Refrain from smoking on the tracks
Always follow the guide’s instructions.
No wheelies or doughnuts with the bikes
Bike's only allowed on the farm yard when visitors in training.
If you are not comfortable with the quad, do not do the trail.
No drugs allowed on the farm
No alcohol use before any quad trail or driving.
Always use quads under supervision.
Children always to be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Using pool on own risk.
Swimming only allowed under guide’s supervision.
Children under 12 years to use the pool under parent or guardian supervision.
Do not dive into the pool or play games around the pool.
Visiting the farm on own risk.
